CAG
- CAG is an independent authority under the Constitution of India.
- He is the head of the Indian audit & account department and chief Guardian of Public purse.
- It is the institution through which the accountability of the government and other public authorities (all those who spend public funds) to Parliament and State Legislatures and through them to the people is ensured.
Cartographic
- Cartography, the art and science of graphically representing a geographical area, usually on a flat surface such as a map or chart.
- It may involve the superimposition of political, cultural, or other non geographical divisions onto the representation of a geographical area.
Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009
- The RTE Act aims to provide primary education to all children aged 6 to 14 years.
- It enforces Education as a Fundamental Right (Article 21).
- The act mandates 25% reservation for disadvantaged sections of the society where disadvantaged groups include:
- SCs and STs
- Socially Backward Class
- Differently abled
- It also makes provisions for a non-admitted child to be admitted to an age appropriate class.
- It also states that sharing of financial and other responsibilities between the Central and State Governments.
CBI
- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigating police agency in India.
- It functions under the superintendence of the Deptt. of Personnel, Ministry of Personnel, Pension & Public Grievances, Government of India – which falls under the prime minister’s office.
- However for investigations of offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, its superintendence vests with the Central Vigilance Commission.
- It is also the nodal police agency in India which coordinates investigation on behalf of Interpol Member countries.
NCLAT
- The NCLAT was constituted under Section 410 of the Companies Act, 2013 to hear appeals against the orders of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
- NCLT is a quasi-judicial body that adjudicates issues relating to companies.
- It is also the appellate tribunal for orders passed by the NCLT(s) under Section 61 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), 2016, and for orders passed by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) under Sections 202 and 211 of the IBC.
- Any person aggrieved by any order of the NCLAT may file an appeal to the Supreme Court.
